The organizers of The Masters have announced a delay in the tournament’s start due to inclement weather at Augusta National, with patrons being admitted later than initially planned. The scheduled tee-off on Thursday faces potential disruption from showers and storms forecasted mainly before 2 p.m. Eastern Time, as reported by CNN Weather.

We continue to closely monitor the weather. Gate openings and tee times are delayed until further notice,” stated Masters organizers on Wednesday. A subsequent update confirmed that the first round will commence at 10:30 a.m. ET, with patron gates opening at 9:30 a.m. ET.

While the weather outlook for Augusta is expected to improve later in the week, high winds of up to 37 mph on Thursday and 31 mph on Friday are anticipated. However, Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be sunny, with temperatures reaching a peak of 85 degrees Fahrenheit (29 degrees Celsius) on the final day of play.
