Xiaomi Support has issued a statement regarding this issue, stating, “We apologize for the complaints received from users. It is a technical issue due to a system plugin update.

Nevertheless, this problem has only affected a small number of devices. This problem has been addressed with the new update. Users facing such issues should visit the nearest service center or sales center.”

This action should not be taken by mistake.

Not only that, Xiaomi has also cautioned against not performing self-repair if users encounter such problems. Doing so may result in the loss of data on their phones.

Recently, Xiaomi has launched HyperOS based on Android 14 for many devices. It is said that some files in this new operating system are not compatible with older devices, causing users to face this problem.

Xiaomi has stated that only a few devices and users have been affected by this problem. However, many users have reported this problem on Reddit.

If this update has not yet arrived on someone’s phone, they can download and install it themselves. They need to follow the steps below:

  • Firstly, go to the settings of the phone.
  • Then go to the About Device option and go to the software update option.
  • Disable the automatic download option here.
  • By doing this, the MIUI update will not be installed automatically on that phone.
